Music inspired by and drawn from the historic California Gold Rush of 1849 following the discovery of gold in the village of Coloma in the foothills of the Sierras east of Sacramento. Performed by Off to California: Dorothy Hawkinson, Andy Alexis and Alan Beilharz Fuller. Instruments include clawhammer banjo, fretless banjo, guitar, flamenco guitar, fiddle and hardingfele (Norwegian fiddle).

Off to the West Vancouver, Washington

Andrew Alexis, Charlotte Berta and Dorothy A Hawkinson have deep familial roots in the West, reaching over 100 years back in coastal SW Washington, to the 1850s in gold rush California and even as far as 1770s Alta California when it was still part of Mexico. Each has decades of experience playing traditional music of various genres.
